Attend all SPFA coaches meetings, to be held with the General Manager.
Attend, or have a representative from their coaching staff, attend all recruiting drives of players for their level.
This may be "School visits", "Come Try It's" and/or any team level event to recruit players.
Help recruit coaches for the approval of the SPFA Executive threw out the season and off season.
Coordinate with the President and Registrar on training requirements for the coaching staff.
Ensure that sufficient coaches are in attendance of all games, practices and team functions.
Advise the Director at Large of any indiscretions on or off the field by any coaches, players or parents.
Ensure that the Code's of Conduct are being followed for players, parents and coaching staff.
The Head Coach is responsible for their players and coaches conduct at games and practices.
Commit to the development of every player on the team.
Ensure all players will receive fair playing time unless warranted by circumstances.
Work with the SPFA Executive to establish a practice schedule at the beginning of the year.
If requiring more practice time, or make up practice dates, please advise the Facilities Coordinator
Advise Team Equipment Manager of all equipment requirements during the season.
Working with a Team Manager or the Field Liaison, communicate to parents of players and advise them of situations that have come up regarding their child.
Have at least one other coach and Team Manager present when verbally disciplining a player.
Fill out incident reports as per CDMFA procedures and protocols.
Head parent meetings at beginning and midway threw the season.
Establish and communicate criteria for player selection and tier placement
Communication team expectations and association expectations
Work with the association on any upcoming camps.
Work with the Vice President, the Director at Large, and the other head coaches to establish a structured development progression from the Atom levels up to the Bantam levels. Establish a logical progression of offensive, defensive and special teams schemes and football terminology to support long term stability and development of the SPFA football program.
Head Coaches and coaching staff should be on busses when and if the team is being transported to and from a Game.
Head coaches should promote team spirit and lead by example.
